Aston Martin AM 310 Vanquish

While rumors and leaked images have been floating around the interwebs recently (including an unofficial presentation at the Villa d’Este Concourse), finally Aston Martin announced details of its DBS followup, the AM 310 Vanquish. While the car receives a completely new exterior identity it keeps the same 6.0-liter V12 engine under the hood, tweaked to raise power to 565 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque

.

The last time the Vanquish resonated across the mainstream was way back when Pierce Brosnan played the role of James Bond instead of Daniel Craig, so its absence has been considerable. Now it returns with some styling cues lifted from Aston Martin’s million dollar supercar the One-77, including the halo car’s copious use of carbon fiber throughout (which only somewhat justified the One-77′s exorbitant pricetag). Expect performance figures around 4.1 seconds for its 0-60 mph sprint, with the top speed around 186 mph. Not stunning numbers for sure, but what Aston Martin has always excelled in was performance wrapped in a beautiful GT package — not family terrorizing Godzilla specs. Aston announced a £189,995 pricetag (approximately $298,000) for its upcoming Vanquish, but that could change by production times.
