German auto manufacturer BMW has just released the R nineT motorcycle in celebration of the company’s 90th anniversary in motorbike design. BMW plans on replacing the 3-series coupe with a dedicated two-door, called the 4-series and is set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. North American sales of the next-generation model are expected to begin in late 2013. “The 4-series doesn’t just mark the start of a new cycle; it marks the start of a model with its own individual character and a stand-alone design,” says BMW. “It stands for greater sportiness, added exclusivity and even clearer differentiation from the 3-series.” Click through the gallery above
BMW is celebrating its domination of the 2012 DTM series with a special edition M3. The Championship Edition takes on the look of Canadian driver Bruno Spengler’s car, with Frozen Black metallic paint, carbon flaps, dark chrome accents and matte black wheels. BMW and Zagato seem to have deemed that their initial collaboration on the BMW Zagato Coupe wasn’t enough. The follow-up Zagato Roadster was conceived, designed and produced in just six short weeks in order to be ready for its debut this weekend at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
